SARSALA BAY

Sarsala Bay

Sarsala Bay, is a hidden gem 11km from Dalaman airport and surrounded in hillsides densely wooded in pine. The first road leading to Sarsala was built in order to move materials from Egypt up to Dalaman to build Early 20th Century Egyptian Khedive Abbas Pasha a hunting lodge. However the French company that was also commissioned to build a railway station in Egypt at the same time confused the sites and built the rail station in Dalaman instead. The railway station still exists but with no connecting rails. This road to Sarsala is still used today and passes the four lakes created by Tersakan river before it reaches the sea.A pebbled beach, Sarsala is very popular with local families and can get very busy on Sundays in the high season. It has a small pier for yachts to tie to and also a restaurant on site.
